Here Are All the Rumors About Apple's New $599 MacBook

Our enterprise org went from 100 Macs in 2015 to 15,000 today... solely because of M3 and M4 MacBook Airs. They're finally cheaper than comparable Dell Latitudes and far more reliable.

Apple introduces the new MacBook Air with the M4 chip and a sky blue color with a starting price of $999

Insane how much better of a deal MacBook Air got in the last 6 months. M3 --> M4 8GB base --> 16GB base $1,100 --> $1,000 If you have EDU, it's $899. This, along with the Mac Mini, are the best deals in personal computers in my opinion. Typing this on an M4 Mac Mini that I got for $550 total.

Which laptop should I buy in 2025?

I’ve had both Macs and Windows based PCs…the Macs I’ve bought always outlast the tech progression. We just upgraded my wife’s 6 year old MacBook Air to a new M3 version. I’ve had two work laptops in that time: Dell laptop and a Lenovo ThinkPad. Apple is expensive, but they undoubtedly last for freak

Can someone please explain the difference between M3 and M4

Like you’re five: Transistors generate electrical signals. It’s how computers work. The more transistors, the faster it is. M1 has 16 billion transistors M2 has 20 billion transistors M3 has 25 billion transistors M4 has 28 billion transistors The problem is transistors produce heat, especially when

Apple introduces the new MacBook Air with the M4 chip and a sky blue color

Honestly, this looks like a pretty good release. base model CPU gets two more efficiency cores (in addition to architectural benefits from M3 to M4) base 16GB memory with slightly higher bandwidth (120GB/s vs 100GB/s) Thunderbolt 4 instead of 3 dual 6K external display support with internal display

We benchmarked Cyberpunk 2077 on Mac M1 to M4 — the numbers don’t lie

Playable for those that only own a MacBook but i got a m3 air, and the playability is in the no thanks. (Upgraded recently a base 8/256 m2 to m3 24/512) I love my air, but anything demanding gaming wise is just not worth it. I haven’t compared the settings to my rog ally, running steam os. But from

I never imagined to say this but, is Apple becoming one of the most budget friendly brands?

Base model Apple Silicon Macbook Air have always been incredible value when on sale. M1 went as low as 749 in 2021 if I recall correctly, and while M2/M3 had a price increase, M4 came back to $999 MSRP (and with 16GB RAM!) and you can find those for $899 regularly and sometimes $799. It's not even j

Can someone explain technically why Apple shared memory is so great that it beats many high end CPU and some low level GPUs in LLM use case?

Unified memory can, and in Apple's case, does mean you can use the same data in CPU and GPU code without having to move the data back and forth. Apple Silicon has a memory bandwidth of 68 GB/s on the M1 chip (non-Pro/Max), the slowest processor package for macOS-operated computers, e.g. the MacBook

Apple introduces the new MacBook Air with the soaring performance of the M4 chip, a gorgeous new sky blue color, and a lower starting price of $999

I got a lot of "Apple would never raise the RAM to 16 GB for free." Then Apple did just that for M2 and M3 Airs. "But Apple will never do that for the M4 Air." Apple not only didn't raise prices on M4 Air for having 16 GB RAM—they lowered them by $100—and improved weaknesses like camera and number o

Microsoft Says 'We're Faster Than a Mac' in Latest Windows PC Ad

lol faster than M3 air they claim. But, with a fan, ad and spyware riddled OS, and 20% less battery life. Add a fan to the M3 in the form of the MacBook Pro and it's 31% faster than the X Elite and consumes 20% less power. The M4 smokes it even more. Qualcomm really dropped the ball.
