Tahoe vs Sequoia battery life
Would be great to now have a comparison with Apple Intelligence turned off. It bothers me that M2 Air is now the least-lasting computer on Tahoe.

Tahoe 26.4 bricked my M2 MacBook Pro. Apple quoted me $700 for a logic board replacement. Fixed it myself for free with a $20 cable.
Yeah, had the same problem last week. 26.4.1 bricked my M2 MacBook Air. Apple Store tried reviving through DFU and said I needed a new logic board. I brought it home and followed the instructions now being shared in a number of places to DFU restore to 26.3.1 and it came right back. I sent feedback

Linux continues to grow and has reached a new peak of 3.20% in the November 2025 Steam Hardware & Software Survey
Yes Wine runs on Apple silicon too I use Codeweaver software as I am reasonably well paid and it supports Wine development, Valve also pays Codeweavers to develop both Proton and Wine. As I said you can run a lot of software and many modern games but not as many as Linux probably due to the ARM arch

is anyone else still in sequoia?
This week I decided to be hip and went to Tahoe on an M2 Air despite the complaints. I didn't mind the overall look and feel of Tahoe and I actually preferred the new compact Launchpad, but what got me was the noticeably bad battery life, occasional stutters in animations and buggy drag and drop, wi

Teenager hacks Airpods and exposes Apple's lies
btw apple pencil gen 1 is not "supported" on newer ipads like m2 air, but I managed to get it to work using some app called lightblue lmao. Just a way for them to force you to buy a pencil pro.

hello guys, new to the open source scene, what's best open source and free motion control
Ahhh, MacBook Air M2—aka “surprisingly capable laptop” + “thermally governed by vibes.” Totally usable for image stuff, but for video motion transfer (Wan-Move / Wan 2.1 video pipelines) it’s gonna feel like trying to render Avengers in a toaster. A few reality-check + best paths: What you can do lo

8 GB is enough for most people.
But even that is unrealistic. That’s why we have App save states that get swapped to SSD. No one realistically are using all their apps in quick succession or back to back. Most issues are tied to software. I have a user with an M2 MacBook Air 24GB experiencing slow does with Teams. My Neo doesn’t h

macOS Tahoe 26.2 — noticeable performance regression on 2022 M2 MacBook Air
I'm so glad I found this post, I was just about to update my 2022 MacBook Air (M2) from Sequoia to Tahoe but now I don't think its worth it. My battery is already bad on Sequoia, so if it gets worse with Tahoe then no thank you. And I've also had Apple Intelligence and Siri turned off since I upgrad

Maximum Battery Capacity -93%
Got my M2 Air in November 2024 as well. It currently says 97% of original battery capacity. I'm hoping the new charge limit setting in MacOS 26.4 will help everyone with maintaining our batteries. That being said, after 8 years Apple will treat the machine as obsolete and no longer provide security

M2 MacBook Pro completely bricked after updating to macOS 26.3 Tahoe from macOS 15 Sequoia.
MacBook Air M2 1TB 16GB, same dang issue. Click update to Tahoe 26.4, left to shower, came back with a black screen. No keyboard, screen, any lights, except for MagSafe charging cable indicator. Took it into local Apple Store and did diagnostics. Logic board failure……$600 bucks to fix. I checked the
