"Build quality risk"? Sure, my M4 MacBook Air 15" is a little more "perfect" but my FW16 HX 370 is awfully nice, certainly nicer than the System76/Clevo Oryx Pro it replaced. This is probably a decent argument for a 15” neo— apple loves their ladder pricing. $699 neo 13” aA18p/8/512 -> $899 neo 15” a19p/12/512 -> $1099 MBA 13 -> $1299 MBA 15 Wouldn’t have the built in EDU market, but lots of older folks want a larger screen. Maybe we’ll see it in six months.

Just went to bestbuy to compare them. Didn’t help much 😂 The MBP has a better screen, no doubt at all. Promotion is cool. HDR is superb. But do I need this? Most of my is static stuff. I won’t edit HDR videos or watch movies on my mac. And most of the time I will be on my external monitor calibrated

Neo is definitely not good for 10 years xD Ask her if she want to upgrade to a bigger screen. How is her eyesight? MBA 15 inch should be a good fit.

what helped me before with a similar choice was focusing on screen real estate for split documents. for 40-50 chrome tabs plus split screen work, the 15 inch MacBook Air M5 makes a bigger daily difference than the extra ram from 16 to 24gb. i tried both and the 13 inch felt cramped with two document

The MBP 14-inch also has a higher resolution display than the MBA 15-inch both vertically and horizontally. I’d factor that in as well because even with an inch larger display, I would be able to see more content or “pixel” in a relatively similar display size.
