Get the iPad Air, either current gen or previous gen. Most people do the standard smaller size, but you could consider doing the bigger one if you want. If you choose to go older to save money, just make sure whichever iPad Air you get is M1 or newer, then it’ll have plenty of power for notes.

I wouldn't call going from iPad Air M1 to iPad A16 an "upgrade" (less RAM, less processing power, no laminated display, etc) But if it works for you, it works.

Actually during last year I ditched iPhone in favour of Android and completely abandoned Windows for Mac :P For me its fine. I'm not using Safari anyway. All I need is browser history sync.
