Ditched Amazon years ago because 1. What you're speaking on. 2. Hardware team just gave up after the Oasis 7" and have spent the past decade putting out nonsense with zero vision other than marketing while Boox, Kobo, Pocketbook keep iterating form and size and bezel considerations and 3. Other comp

I feel like it's old stock they found that they hadn't planned on selling because they didn't realise how popular it actually was (based on my other theory that Amazon doesn't invest in any meaningful form of customer focused input or social listening when it comes to business decisions about Kindle

I keep it on airplane mode all the time, which is what annoys me. I've also jailbroken it, following all steps to ensure no updates occur. It's a Kindle Oasis. Still, it reverted the process overnight despite no update being pushed. I had to factory reset it. Right now, I'm waiting for a brand new X

I have a Kobo Libra 2, bought about two and a half years ago, and was coming from a Kindle Oasis 3. I haven't actually switched... I still use the Kindle daily, as well as of course the Kobo. Using multiple devices seems to make it easier for me to juggle books. Maybe that's just me... because Kobo

There are a few Android eInk devices that are very similar to the 7’’ Oasis 2 and 3 in size and shape - Boox Go 7 for example, but there are others. They won’t have the battery life of good dedicated e-readers (Kindle, Kobo, PocketBook) but offer all sorts of flexibility. (And battery life isn’t as

I started with Kindle Oasis and switched to Kobo Libra Colour . For me I didn’t like being locked into the Kindle eco system and try to avoid supporting the Amazon monopoly. I don’t think any one company should have so much control over books, and I didn’t like the way Amazon was supporting authors

Nope since Amazon abandoned us by killing their best Kindle I got a Boox Go 7 B&W. Closest to the Oasis there is.

True. Amazon cuts off updates FAR sooner than Kobo does! For instance, my 2017 Kindle Oasis 2 got cut off from updates in summer of 2023. Six years of updates is about all you get from Amazon. Whereas a Kobo Aura HD from 2013 was STILL getting updates when I passed it on last summer (2025). TWICE as

I’ll use my kindle oasis till it dies. But I only buy books on kobo for pc or direct from publisher now. Hate the stranglehold kindle has on indie authors.

Really I wanted the ability to easily read a book I purchased outside of Amazon. Kindle made that EXTREMELY difficult. Most of the time the send to kindle was broken and just gave errors. It was so frustrating. My Oasis was a good device from a build and tech standpoint, but if it cannot read my own
