I’ve been struggling with the Colorsoft. I find I have to adjust the warmth and brightness with a frequency that’s a nuisance. The battery also drains fast. I read for the whole day after Christmas (8ish hours) and it went from fully charged to dying. In comparison to the Paperwhite, which took like

If the kindle colorsoft bothered your eyes chances are high that the kobo will as well... the displays are all made by the same company.

I wanted a color ereader and that was before the disastrous ColorSoft launch, so I switched to Kobo and I think so far I’ve found one book that wasn’t on Kobo which I discovered was because of Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited exclusivity clause which only applies to self-pub/indie authors (which is why you

I switched from Kindle to kobo and prefer kobo. It has a better UI, no ads anywhere, and overdrive integration. I downloaded all my kindle books before Amazon got rid of the download feature, so they were easy to de-drm with Calibre. I'd advise that, even if you stay with kindle, you download and ba

Haven't tried the colorsoft but I switched from Kindle oasis to kobo libra colour and far prefer Kobo's UI and the extra options I have with using it with Calibre, also kindle doesn't support libby in Canada and the colorsoft doesn't have buttons so it was never a good option for me.

Honestly, you just think you want to read comics on e-ink. Realistically, it's not really there yet. and a 6" or 7" reader is just too small, you would want an 8' color tablet at a minimum, in my opinion. Some will say a 7" reader is good enough, but it seems tiny to me. A tablet is still the best f

I’m a switcher from Kindle PW and not massively loving KLC (yet?). I was hoping I’d be instantly hooked as I’m sick of giving Amazon money (I impulsively buy a lot of ebooks for whatever device I use). I really like the autorotate though, defo helps with my similar hair to you of switching hands. Bu

I'm curious what you ended up doing for an ereader in the end? I'm the same age as you and I've been using my old Kindle keyboard since 2010! I love the buttons so much I just can't get used to a touchscreen. I've already replaced the battery once and it's draining quickly again so I'm trying to loo

Although the screens are lower resolution the contrast is much better than the newer Kindles. I have a K3 with no light and it is by far easier on the eyes than my brand new Colorsoft. I way prefer my older kindle. Also page turn buttons!

I posted a similar thread on the Kindle sub yesterday. I just received my Colorsoft, and the color covers was of course one of the reasons I upgraded from my 11 year old Voyage. Like you I was disappointed that viewing them in all their lit glory, full screen, is not possible when waking from sleep
