We've kept our toddler tablet free and she's almost 4. We are planning a trip on the other side of the world with a 24 hr travel. Worried about keeping her busy. Debating whether we should get a Kindle fire kids tablet or something else. Any recommendations?
The Amazon kids fire tablets suck. They’re so slow and choppy. But that’s what we have. We aren’t a tablet family, but the 3yo and almost 6yo get them for trips. It works well enough for that, they’re just so frustrating for me to prep downloading shows and such ahead of a trip because they’re so sl

Why is the 'kids tablet' world so hard!?
DUDE The Kids Amazon Fire Tablets are GARBAGE. I too have tech prowress and a minor in IT. it is a PITA to setup, utilize, and they want to charge you $ for shit that doesnt give you the control you want in a way REAL people would use this device for their kids.

Well it finally happened
we use an amazon fire tablet for the reason our son throws things a lot. Fire tablets are cheaper and we have found the kids mode is pretty good at filtered content. Having witnessed so many times the table being thrown in the last couple of years. and that it still works, makes me appreciate the du

What is that one opinion about Amazon that will get you like:
The Kids Fire Tablets are so appallingly bad, Amazon blew it on cornering that market. I’m convinced no one in that department actually has kids.

Turning a tablet into an ereader
You can generally turn any android tablet into a dedicated e-reader. The easiest way is to "pin" the Kindle or Libby app before handing it to your kids. This makes it so that they can't exit out of the application at all without knowing the specific button combination/gesture to do so. If they get a

I want honest reviews from people who own one of these
I didn’t know about the referenced FB community, so I’m glad to see the other post about it. However, in answer to the op questions, I can’t say yes enough. I have a 6 and 8 year old and they played it at least weekly since we got it last Christmas. There are tons of games, new ones each month. So I

Barron's Stock Pick - Roblox "the stock could jump 50%
First off for open disclaimer: I bought Roblox pretty low, so I’m not a bag holder and I’ve done damn well. Secondly: I don’t let my kids play Roblox yet. But the safety features they are going to implement soon will make me change my mind once issues are corrected. Just fyi, I wouldn’t call this a

"According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, American students reached their peak achievement in 2013."
I’m in the US. We have a 4 and 6 year old who are obviously in the beginning of their education careers and it is terrifying. For reference I graduated high school in 2003. We put a lot of work in with them at home to supplement their in school education and foster their attention span and love of l

Get a refurbished iPad on eBay - I got an iPad 4 for $50 and it works perfectly for travel. Cheap kids case on amazon and you’re good to go, and you can download any apps you want instead of being limited to Amazon content on the fire tablet

Tablet for toddler
The Amazon Fire kids tablet is cheap, comes with a 2 year replacement/repair plan, and a very protective bumper case. However. The Amazon content has a lot that is broken without internet. When it is on the internet, kids can find versions of games that are just reskins of another game. You can bloc
