The Kids Fire Tablets are so appallingly bad, Amazon blew it on cornering that market. I’m convinced no one in that department actually has kids.

Which ereaders would you recommand for a family?
I would personally steer away from the "Kindle Fire Kids" (the tablet, I don't know if this applies to the Kindle Kids eInk ereaders) because it prohibits sideloading entirely on the kids profiles. You can't even load books using Send to Kindle - they don't show up at all under the parents.amazon.co

Freetime/kids favorites missing
My kids had old Fire HD 10 kids tablets and one day a year or two ago the favorites section disappeared. They could still add apps to favorites, they just weren't listed anywhere.

Complete reset.
I have a Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro tablet and am upset with the complete lack of control and apps that come it. I need to individual remove them and everything in general.
I don't want to reset it back to what in came with. Instead I want to strip it down to what I imagine a norm fire tablet would

Ipad mini 5 vs amazon fire kids
Will.. my 2 years 10 months toddler just thrown his iPad mini 4 to the Cartier canal in Doha .. and it took some time until one of the boats bring it back (it has a kids hard case which floats but the maid kinda dropped it a couple months ago on a rock and it cracked so water is a no no )..
