I'm out of contract. Where would you go?

I just started a 12 month contract with Olilo. £37/month for 900Mbps. Also added an upfront of £130 for an Eero 7 pro router expecting that it will cover a property that currently takes my BT Hub 2 extra nodes. If it doesn’t, they’ve said I can add another for the same £130. Bit of a bargain conside

WiFi Range Recommendation

In your case, you may get better results by adding an additional eero 7 unit, and at least in the upper 5GHz channels, it can use almost the full 30dBm transmit power as compared to the lower channels which will be in the 500-600mW range. While mesh will always have its downsides, there there are a

Overhauling network in 3 story townhome, is there an advantage to multiple APs vs mesh routers?

If you already have a weak signal upstairs with the Google router placed on the 2nd floor, I don't think a mesh system would perform much better, unless you are able to place the mesh nodes strategically where the signal wouldn't be obstructed. That might be difficult with the layout. The mesh nodes

Truly Maddening: RBR50 End of life. What Next?

I just retired my ~10 yr old Orbi RB50 setup and got the eero 7 Pro 2 node system and am very happy. Getting 950 MBps down wired and 1100 down wireless on my iPhone 17 Pro Max wirelessly using my 1 GB Spectrum cable service. Set up NextDNS filtering at the router level and am pleased so far. Skip th

Daily FI discussion thread - Tuesday, April 28, 2026

Yea setting up another node was no effort. I have 3 because I wanted to hardline one of my pi’s but the range of them is really good I could get by with just 2. I have an eero 7 with two 6e’s. I can see data usage by device, not sure about seeing it per node as I’m unable to find that screen but it’

Sky Gigafast – stick with Sky Hub or upgrade router?

Hub 4.2 with 2xEero 7 Pro and Hub WiFi turned off. SO much better here for speed and coverage.

Is there a reason why I'm only finding a single company that makes retractable ethernet reels?

That, or just go with Eero 7s.

Is this good? there's a wall beetween my wifi and my room. The connection goes from 1950Mbps to 640Mbps.

it’s bad. I used one before and it’s awful. I bought Eero 7 Pro and I have maximum speed of 1,000mbps everywhere in the house. 2 floors. Total 2,500sqft.

Whatever you do, DO NOT go with Comwave

“Good router” is debatable depending on the size of the area you’re trying to cover. Even townhomes that are 20-25 years old can have enough steel and walls to block signals. It’s overkill but I’m running 3 Eero 7 Pro mesh units on 3 floors and it serves me well. I’m not saying you need to do this b

Plz recommend between Orbi 870, 970 or Eero Max 7

FWIW had an older orbi set up. Never had any issues. From what I've read decided to leave and got eero 7 pro and it works great but they put some features I used on my orbi behind a paywall.
