Anyone with experience with alen air purifiers.
I’m using Alen 45i and 35i in our home and they work great. we have 2 cats and these machines remove any pet and cooking odors. filter needs to be replaced once a year. Having an app makes it handy to check or change settings as needed, also has a schedule option. good machines for the money.

Looking for air purifier for cat smell
Purifiers under 200 wont do much for odors unfortunately. Or not for very long. You need thicker filters with black carbon pellets -these absorb odors. The normal white filters in most purifiers just capture particles. Does nothing for odors. Under 200 dollar units will fair chance have a thin carbo

Thoughts on this air purifier?
This stuff is so fascinating! I've also stumbled upon BreatheSmart 35i and the Coway Airmega AP-1512HH. Our living room is 25' x 20' x 10' (ceilings). I'll check out those Winix ones and can hopefully afford to get 2. Bonus that the Alen's are FSA/HSA eligible.

Need a filter for odors please deadly allergic
The ventilator is a good idea as someone else suggested, as no purifier under 200ish bucks will do much for odors. A good unit for odors is an Alen45i, but it's 350 bucks. An Alen 35i I think is 290. One of the best is AustinAir and they are 750. So is suggest Austin Air, or maybe an Alen. For a ven

looking for air purifier for ~110 sq. ft. (dorm) room, mostly concerned with spread of viruses/bacteria
I think alen air would suit you.. you have the budget for it.. specifically, alen breathsmart 35i - it’s expensive but quiet.. has good carbon for vocs should you need it.. lifetime warranty so it can grow with you.. much more cadr than you need for the room, so you dont have to run it on high.. aga

I did a quick spec check sound wise for the 2 models in question - alen 35i is 42db at max and the airmega you mentioned is 53db at max I recall that db scale isnt linear and 10db means double the level of noise..

Stay Away From Mila Air...
This is frustrating although it seems a little harsh as to Mila Air though imo. As most purifers break eventually, and the industry standard is pretty much just a 1 year warranty for most cheap/random brands. A lot of units will fail within 5ish years if used heavily probably, and I had many random

My first air purifier for my living room! Help!
Great...although I just noticed about your 12 feet cielings not being in the 400 sq. Ft...meaning it's really more than 400 for the calculations. In which case an Alen 75i would be an even better choice. Or perhaps one of the other more powerful units. If you do get the 45i make sure you let it run
