Purifiers under 200 wont do much for odors unfortunately. Or not for very long. You need thicker filters with black carbon pellets -these absorb odors. The normal white filters in most purifiers just capture particles. Does nothing for odors. Under 200 dollar units will fair chance have a thin carbo

I think alen air would suit you.. you have the budget for it.. specifically, alen breathsmart 35i - it’s expensive but quiet.. has good carbon for vocs should you need it.. lifetime warranty so it can grow with you.. much more cadr than you need for the room, so you dont have to run it on high.. aga

I did a quick spec check sound wise for the 2 models in question - alen 35i is 42db at max and the airmega you mentioned is 53db at max I recall that db scale isnt linear and 10db means double the level of noise..

Have you considered an Alen 25 or 35i? I love my 25i for my office. Its auto light feature is perfect for night time and it’s the quietest air purifier I’ve ever had.

Alen 35i Does a nice job and extremely quiet. I also have Levoit 400S. They are both great. Alen is more sensitive then the 400S.
