HEPA purifiers reduce the particulate component of cigarette smoke, especially fine PM2.5 and even a portion of ultrafine particles, but they don’t eliminate gaseous toxins or all odors. looking for air purifier for ~110 sq. ft. (dorm) room, mostly concerned with spread of viruses/bacteria
I think alen air would suit you.. you have the budget for it.. specifically, alen breathsmart 35i - it’s expensive but quiet.. has good carbon for vocs should you need it.. lifetime warranty so it can grow with you.. much more cadr than you need for the room, so you dont have to run it on high.. aga

My first air purifier for my living room! Help!
Great...although I just noticed about your 12 feet cielings not being in the 400 sq. Ft...meaning it's really more than 400 for the calculations. In which case an Alen 75i would be an even better choice. Or perhaps one of the other more powerful units. If you do get the 45i make sure you let it run
