Considering getting a controller to use with Steam games. What are the pros and cons of the various types?

8BitDo makes a super solid controller for an unbeatable price. I have am Ultimate 2C and while I tend to prefer KBM in most games, it works fantastically for games that really need a controller. It's a major upgrade from the old 360 controller I was using. Biggest selling point for me was the price.

if you need a controller, an 8bitdo ultimate 2c wireless can often be found for ~$20 and does the same thing for casual use

The Canadian experience is seeing a cool tech announcement for $99 USD (~130CAD) and then watching it transform into $150 the moment it crosses the border. It’s like a magic trick where my money just disappears. My 8BitDo Ultimate 2C cost me $40 CAD; I could literally buy three of those for the pric

any good reliable alternatives to the regular nintendo switch pro controller?

8BitDo Ultimate 2C. It's about 30 USD and honestly very good value with Hall effect sticks and button feel. I prefer the D-pad to both the Pro 1 and Pro 2 controllers, if that's something that matters to you.

Advice for a better controller

Thanks for all the replies guys. I've just ordered the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C 2.4G, Hall Effect, Wireless. That seems to be a popular choice and was pretty cheap (for Norway) 😆
