8BitDo controller mod arrived.
I’m primarily using an Analogue 3D. I wouldn’t have done it but this controller was absolutely thrashed. It’s ok. I wanted another wireless controller. I’m just so used the 8BitDo 64 at this point.

Back in the saddle
You have several options for wireless controllers. I leave you my 2.5 favourite plus one that is about to come. Official Nintendo 64 NSO controller Being BT you can use the excellent RetroTime Adapter (does not add any perceptible lag) or anything made with BlueRetro really. I use this right now, be

8BitDo Retro N64 Side-by-Side
S-Mode is “Switch mode”. Think of it as a controller that speaks Nintendo Switch. Any Switch only controller is “S-Mode” only. D-Mode is Direct Input, a standard used by a lot of devices (just not the Switch). NSO 64 (for Nintendo Switch Online) is only S-Mode (or Switch only). Up until A3D firmware

For those with the Analogue 3d, what’s been your experience with controllers?
The 8bitdo ones that were released for the analogue feels great in the hands, the buttons feel great, and would be perfect for playing games with a few friends like Mario party or Mario Kart, but any game that requires precision on the analogue stick like Goldeneye or Ocarina of time using the sling

Short review of 8bitdo 64
Just got mine today, almost a year after pre-ordering... So happy to finally have it in my hands! So far, feels great, buttons and all feel quality, low latency, etc. But I have one issue: The button placement feels weird... Like too low. Is it just me? I have very medium-sized hands, but it instantl

What is the best wireless controller setup for N64 that does not require me to pay for a subscription service?
I don't want to pay for Nintendo Switch online and just some hardware to buy which just works. I want a good quality controller but it doesn't have to be the exact same 3 prong N64 shape (something like 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller is OK). Price < $100 USD but hopefully closer to $50 each.

Now that the hype is over, is the 8bitdo controller actually…bad???
I been using the new grey 8Bitdo 64 controller for Ship of Harkinian on PC to play OOT and I can't find any flaws with this controller at all. This is by far the best modern N64 controller I have used in comparison to Retro-bit's Tribute64 and Retrofighters Brawler64. I have actually put in another

Has anybody transplanted the guts of the 8bitdo controllers into the original N64 controllers?
Bummer how neither the new 8Bitdo 64 controller nor their conversion kit are both bluetooth with a wired option. I still have my OG N64 and am rocking that for at least as long as it takes for the 3D to come out. The conversion kit looks real bulky and takes away the hardwired connection option, and

For those with the Analogue 3d, what’s been your experience with controllers?
The 8bitdo controllers are great..... with one caveat in my opinion. On the 8bitdo 64 controller, your left index finger will be on the Z-L button almost all the time and your right index finger will be on the R button almost all the time. Meaning your left index finger has to sit a bit further back
