2026 New N64 controllers
I played the 8bitdo yesterday the first time. For Mario Kart 64 it was fine - although the double triggers irritate me (especially when having played newer Mario Karts lately). But playing the AKI wrestling games with the D-pad was much worse. They should have switched the stick and d-pad.

The controller is fantastic in my opinion. If the A3D was compatible I'd be using that, but the M64 + M64 Pro Con is just so nice compared to using the 8BitDo 64 controller and 3D

Pro Controller Cope
It's going to be a screw up. It's going to be the most expensive version of the 8bitdo/RetroFighters/Custom replacement version of this same problem. People are going to love how it feels and brush over that it plays games wrong, even in the "accurate" conversion state. This was my single biggest co

The analog sticks on the new 8Bitdo N64 controller is absolutely horrid.
I'll commiserate here. The stick is awful, completely unusable for racing games, and I'm wondering if the sensitivity can even be fixed via firmware updates. The physical feel and movement is so jarring compared to other 8bitdo products like the excellent Pro 2. As of now, I'm thinking my daily driv

It’s been said before but use wired original controllers if you can
I disagree, but I do find a couple of things annoying about the 8bitdo 64, which I haven't seen mentioned in this subreddit, and cause me to keep an OG controller around. Holding start on boot is how N64 games access their controller pak file managers. Holding start on the 8bitdo 64... Shuts the con

Pro controller A3D compatible?
All the M64 Pro Controller game play footage I’ve seen looks just as twitchy as the TMR sticks in 8BitDo 64 BT, 8BitDo DIY Modkit for N64 controllers, and 8BitDo 64 2.4G controllers. Finely changing your direction in Ocarina of Time without lurching around and jumping off edges looks to be just as p

2.4G 8BitDo N64Controller switch between Rumble and Memory
In my experience, the problem is only the Summercart menu specifically doesn't recognize the controller pak (memory card). The games do. I can save and load from it in Doom 64, some sports games, etc, even when loaded from a Summercart. Since this controller communicates through the controller port,

Safe to say with the Mod Retro emails going out to customers about the M64 for a July preorder and release, the A3D WiFi update will be ready between now and July?
I have two of the 8Bitdo 64 controllers and it's a known problem because of the way they're programmed. Load up any game where C-L&R or C-U&D need to be pressed to do something. For example in Doom 64 after completing a level you have to press press C-L&R to save. It's simply not possible.

M64 controller pricing estimate...$70?
With that said, 8bitdo’s 64 controller is $39.99 or $44.99, depending on the color scheme, so I do not think ModRetro will want to get too far from that. 8bitdo's controller is pretty cheap and in a generic form factor. It also doesn't support N64 controller output plugs which would require a more t
