8bitdo Ultimate 2.4g is great imo

ModRetro made it work with a wired N64 plug. That should work fine. Only Analogue can make it support a native Bluetooth connection unless the ModRetro controller spoofs the NSO N64 controller somehow. Apparently the NSO controller is quite laggy in general when not being used with the Switch. I don't use mine with my 3D anymore. No issues with the 8bitdo 64 controller though

8bitdo makes a custom kit to do this for half the cost of an nso 64 controller. The controllers are not the exact same size anyways its slightly smaller than the classic trident model.
