Advice on buying a Hand Grinder
Unless you're madly fixated on manually grinding for all methods, I'd actually suggest you go for a hand grinder for pourovers along with an electric grinder for espresso. Trust me, I tried all manual ages ago. It wasn't fun for long. As for grinder recommendations... You could start with a Timemore

What’s the value addition of using an expensive grinder
OP good questions. The Agaro was the grinder I started with, and after a point I did ask myself the same questions as you. It was a long journey that led me to my KafaTek MC6/ Zerno (electric) and Pietro/ K Ultra (manual) combination but that’s a separate story. When you buy more expensive grinders

Pour over End game
There is no end game, just diminishing returns lol Realistically, depends on what youre looking for and budget If its electric, either femobook A4z, Ode gen 2 (for 64mm platform) or timemore 078, but if you’ve got an inflated budget, a zerno z2 or even a weber eg-1. Theres also new exciting grinders

been interested in coffee for three years, found this old pourover from my mom which is perfectly suited for the filters I use. Don't have a good grinder yet.
Throwing in my support for the 1zpresso. I have the 1zpresso X-Pro setup (felt better in my little hands). My nephew has the 1zpresso K-Ultra (it’s bigger and honestly a little better). Because the 1zpresso is well made, grinding by hand just became a welcome part of my coffee meditation ritual🧘♀️. Th

Alternativa intermedia KINGr

Adding pourover to espresso setup
Get at Kingrinder K6, 1Zpresso K Ultra, or 1Zpresso ZP6 hand grinder. There’s lots of other good options, but these 3 are solid, affordable picks. There are also lots of good electric pour over grinders, but you spend 2x price at least for same in cup quality, and hand grinding for pour over is much

Dropped beans
It’s 1zpresso K-Ultra. My heart stopped for few seconds when I dropped it. But it was okay.

Grinder to pair with an Esperto Edotto, looks-wise
Congratulations! That is a beautiful machine you've selected, no doubt about it. I have my eye on one as well. I'm thinking about going a different route with a grinder if I do get one. My short list is: Orphan Espresso Lido OG, 1Zpresso J-Ultra, Kinu M47 Classic, and Craig Lyn HG-1 Prime (black). N

Lightweight travel grinder [$300]
Yeah I was doing a bit of Gemini-ing for my own curiousity. Respectfully, I still don't really think the constraints here make sense (eg if you're going an extended period, then coffee bean weight itself gets pretty substantial). If I had to do something within the confines, here's some LLM-generate
