Would the X Ultra add anything to my collection?

I’ve had an X-Pro S for over 2 years (predecessor to the X-Ultra). I love the grinder. It’s a fantastic all-purpose grinder (as is the K). The burrs were slightly changed when they came out with the X-Ultra, but you get more for your $$$ with the Ultra - it has a magnetic catch cup and comes with a

Fully manual!!

Let’s just say, that unless I’m commenting on a Flair subreddit or something, I generally expect to get downvoted for expressing my preference for manual lever machines, but since you’re asking, here goes: It’s hard to beat the quality/price ratio with a manual setup. It would be arrogant of me to s

Struggling to get pressure on my pulls

^ This is a very 1st principle that is fundamental to understanding espresso, and especially the manual robot. You are pushing water through tiny gravel bits. if theyre big like rocks, the water rushes through, if they're tiny like clay not much water at all goes through. There is also the amount, m

Latest addition to my coffee bar! Pitcher rinser by Decent

Yeah, it really is a good grinder that gets a bad rep given to random QC issues with burr alignment and static control. Overall, I had no issues with mine as long as I did the minimum maintenance. Now, I will say that going from a Z1, or shit, even the J Ultra, is definitely a couple steps higher in

Give me reasons to buy a hand coffee bean grinder [>=$200]

1Zpresso J Ultra. Good quality grinder. Doesn't break (at least easily) Portable if you care about that. I don't know if you really need it with your niche zero but grinding coffee by hand is actually kind of fun and a good little workout without being as hard as some people make out.

Manual Espresso Grinder: Kinu M47 Classic vs 1zpresso J Ultra [No Budget]

I am extremely happy with my recent purchase of a J-ultra. It's about 30 seconds to grind the 17-19g I use in a shot. 1zpresso build quality is very nice, comes with a case and cleaning tools, super easy to use and the adjustment steps are suitably fine so you can dial in a ristretto or a normal sho

Knob finishing

Did the same thing as soon as I got my J-Ultra. I was surprised it came completely unfinished... For one of the best hand grinders out there, it seemed like an oversight that cheapened it. And it's not only aesthetics, it also felt rather grating in the palm of my hand. I applied 2-3 coats of BLO fo

best budget grinder [$200]

I have bought two Baratza Encore ESPs. Returned the first one and am returning the second one tomorrow. I would NOT say that it's not a good grinder. Many people seem to love it. Just not for me. My first one may have been defective: I couldn't get the same grind out of it twice in a row. This secon

Upgrading from a P2 to a J-Ultra

J-Ultra is a pretty solid upgrade and one of the best hand grinder options in the price range. I think you'll be surprised (in a good way) at the shots you'll pull with it. Especially if you taste them before making your milk drinks. The J-Ultra was my first espresso grinder. Heads-up, eventually th

Electric Coffee Grinder

Can vouch for the 1zpresso j ultra recommendation. I am the only one in the house who drinks espresso so it didn't make sense to take up a bunch of counter space with a full sized grinder. I settled on a hand grinder and have been impressed with the consistency and build quality of the j ultra.
