After months of planning, I finally built my first Small Form Factor (SFF) PC, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! I went with the Fractal Ridge case for its sleek design and vertical orientation, and despite the challenges of an SFF build, everything came together pretty smoothly.

First, enormous thanks to many people here on sffpc who provided guidance and data that helped make this possible!
My goal here was to build a solid performance gaming PC for around $1500, using AMD for maximum out-of-box smoothness with Bazzite Linux. I wanted something that could sit horizontally

It’s my first pc in about 20 years I built myself. The goal was to build a small machine that fits the esthetics of the living room and can function as a console running Bazzite.

The original motherboard came DOA, so I got the B850i Aorus. The Noctua NH-L12S didn't come with the AMD spacer, so I had to buy some things last minute, but other than that it was smooth sailing.

I do not know what voodoo AMD did with this chip but they need to go back and look at their other chips and make the change.
First this chip is designed to be and delivered on being a gaming BEAST. It punches way above it's weight class. I know it is not as powerful as other offerings for productiv

After months of water-cooling setups and options, I've tested for the past days the T1 in Aircool mode!
The TEST is made using Blender 2.82 to render the demo scene Cosmos Laundromat at the resolution of 4096x1920 for 30 minutes!
These are tables with all the results, thanks to the SFF Forum Users

Cooler is Noctua NH-L12S Ghost Edition, which I suspect is underpowered for this build. Case is Louqe Ghost S1, limited to one fan running as exhaust. EXPO is enabled. Running at 1080p, and without frame gen FPS is not great. I've tried undervolting -20 and -30 and a stock, getting similar results o

Even with bending of the heat pipes the cooler will not fit on this motherboard. I'd advice opting for the Noctua NH-L9x65 SE-AM4, unless you want to use a dremel and remove heat spreaders on the RAM sticks.
Edit: As u/catesnake has pointed out it's possible by removing the plate on the IO shroud.
