Player (3rd Gen.)

This. My 6 year old is obsessed with her Yoto player! That being said it last, it’s definitely a great investment ‘ easy gift to ask for new cards.

The Yoto is a cheaper option because you can just buy a pack of $20 blank cards and write over them indefinitely. It’s similar to my childhood fisher price cassette player in a way.

We got our yoto player two years ago for Christmas. It’s still our most used toy.

Magnatiles are always a hit, “helping” me cook (both kids love to peel garlic and tomatillos and it’s actually helpful?), my 2 year old will play at the kitchen sink in her climbing tower for 30+ minutes, playing dress-up (kids’ costumes AND my clothes/heels while I’m getting ready), indoor play kit

Not so much a resource but let your child be bored sometimes, they don’t need constant stimulation. Boredom brings out creativity. Open ended toys that they can reach independently are good like building blocks, magnatiles, animal figurines like Schleich if they’re older. Baby proof your entire hous

While my son plays independently, I’ll often sit in the same room and read my library book- he’s 4 so getting better at playing in his own. Amazing how many more books I’ve read during this time when in the past I would have reached for my phone. Yoto player for him has been nice.

I prefer yoto player because I can actually use the dials to find specific songs. It also requires a very hard slap to change songs and Tonies are expensive

Other option is a Yoto Player, which is basically the same thing. But yes, they are awesome.

we just got through a very snowy Canadian winter with the same ages. Outside time was very limited. Honestly it's not a great answer but we just spent a ridiculous amount of time at the library. It’s been a week? I’d just wait for the novelty to wear off. We love our yoto player (wish the battery health was better) but I also love podcasts as an adult.
