Which headphones are best for editing 5.1 surround sound?

I’ve got a pair of Yamaha Hs5. Not a treated room btw but well shaped one. They are pretty okey for dialogue editing IMO

How to upgrade/optimize my setup?

Start with one solid hub. A usb audio interface with at least two mic pres and extra line inputs solves most of this. look at focusrite 4i4, motu m4, or audient id14 with an extra line input box. Install proper asio drivers. In ableton set 48k sample rate and a 128 buffer and your latency headache d

Home office redecorated

Sound is provided by Yamaha HS5 monitors with a Yamaha sub, connected to a FocusRite Scarlett Solo. This is a really nice setup. Good job. Be sure the tweeter is pointed at your ears, actually point both at an imaginary point a foot behind your head, in a triangle shape, for improved stereo image.

HS5 YAMAHA

Kali LP6 V2 not getting loud enough compared to Yamaha HS5 — need guidance

First, put both speakers in the exact same spot and feed the same balanced line. On the LP-6 V2, set the rear gain around 0 dB and make sure the input selector DIP is on XLR/TRS, not RCA. On the HS5, turn the level all the way up for this test; the center detent on many HS models is attenuated, so i

Compact setups and bright monitoring speakers, bright sound fatigueness

Inline eq would be the easiest and cheapest option. Bypass button is a must so you can swap back to flat without changing all your settings every time. The Yamaha tweeter is intentionally bright for mixing (producing not djing). It's meant to help you catch all the little details you might miss othe

What are the best studio monitors for a indie producer working in an untreated room?

Even if you use headphones it's always good to listen to your mix on speakers, even if your room is interested. People don't listen to your music in treated rooms. I am very happy with my Yamaha HS5's and they are very adjustable to help match your room. Also very affordable.

New drummer here, setup question

Yes, I play on them. These are Yamaha HS5 studio monitors. Larger ones aren't suitable for my room (you have to adjust them to your needs), and these work perfectly. I use either Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones or Yamaha HS5 monitors. The Yamaha HS5 or higher models are available at any decent hi

Small room / desk against wall — which speakers/monitors should I buy?

Given your setup (desk against wall, ~10cm from the back wall), the speaker choice matters less than how they handle boundary proximity. Rear-ported monitors can get boomy fast that close to a wall. That’s why something like the JBL 305P MkII is actually a solid choice: they handle close-to-wall pla

Kali LP-6, Kali LP-8 or Adam D3V?

You can get what you want with minimum 5" drivers or with Adam d3v, iLoud Micro, Genelec 8010 paired with a subwoofer. Both solutions will receive a significant upgrade through a sw for room correction. Kali LP- 6, Adam T5V, JBL 305P or Yamaha HS5 are great monitors but they are made to perform at t
