Dont buy mi band 8
I've had a Mi Band 8 for 2 years and I always bathe with it and I've never had any problems, however, my Mi Band 5's screen came off the capsule.

[Challenge] European Accountability Challenge: 19th August 2025
Good morning! Not much to say about yesterday except that my cold got a lot better and that a lot of the weekend/travel/sickness water weight dropped off, went from yesterday's 62.6 to 61.9! So let's talk about fitness watches! I mentioned a couple times that mine started acting up and eventually di

I swam and this happened to my Mi Band 7
Mi bands are not meant to swim in. Paradoxically also a shower can break it. They are only resistant to water but not to all conditions. I have Mi band 8 since day 1 and had also Mi 6 NFC: I wore Mi band 6 NFC all day long, sometimes I took a shower, and after 2 years I used it to go to the beach. I

I made a replacement pin for the Xiaomi Smartband 9's strap
I had a similar one in the 8 active for over a year and is still fine :P This is the smartband used by my brother. Here my previous post and you can see the diameter of the pin is similar, only a bit smaller on the 9: https://www.reddit.com/r/functionalprint/comments/1fsf54f/lost_the_locking_pin_of_my_xia

The G-shock that came to school with me everyday
I agree. I did many years of my life using a smart watch (mi band 6 and mi band 8) and I always was scared that once I'll forget to charge it and I won't know what time it is (I get frustrated when I don't know what the time is) and this g shock makes me relaxed that I'll know what the time is.

Miband 9, India, no straps available. Can someone assist what to do?
I read lots of people complaining straps breaking frequently. I lost my Mi Band 2 because of its crappy strap. When I bought my Mi Band 6 in May '22 I immediately bought a metal strap which has been working perfectly well since. When I search on Amazon India for: 'mi band 8 metal strap' I find sever

Protective case for Mi Band — is it good or lame?
My Mi Band 8 is still fully functional and the screen is scratch-free thanks to the protective case I got for it. Since the first case I got broke due to use, I bought a replacement. I have had no issues at all with the touchscreen sensibility. I'd say it's good.

My miban came off after showering
Well that’s convenient because I showered with my mi band 8 for like 7-9 times and it’s in perfect condition, (though I am careful not to expose too much shampoo and shower gel to it), anyway use B7000 glue because it works

Should i upgrade from 9 to 10
No. If you're upgrading go for a different Band/Watch, like Xiaomi Watch S4 or Mi Band 10 Pro when it releases. Upgrading through generations is only worth it if your band stops working or after like 4-5 years I bought my Mi Band 8 in September 2024 and it's still going strong (right after Mi Band 9
