The Exos manual claims an average seek noise level of 3.2 - 3.4 bels (32 - 34dB). WD Reds are rated at 27 dB. So in this instance, the "forum conjecture" is correct: The Exos drives are significantly louder. Seagate EXOS Data Center HDD Noise Level Test WD Red Plus HDD Noise Level Test In practice,

I bought a DH4300+ from Amazon US back in Sept — paid $365.99. Currently $364.99 diskless on Amazon US. I added a couple of 4TB WD RED PLUS NAS disks. And a little bit later their small UPS built for their NAS units. I really like it — easy set up and install. And important to me it’s quiet, compact

Fürs gelegentliche extra Backup habe ich noch eine WD Blue herumliegen. Dann in Verbindung mit einer Raidsonic Icybox Docking Station zum einfac

Yes, I just upgraded to two WD Red Plus 12tb - coincidentally from 4tb 😂 The model I bought is the WD120EFGX. Bear in mind that any WD Plus over 10tb are filled with helium and therefore are quieter.
