Men who were in denial about sleep apnea — how did you finally realize you needed help? What made you take your sleep apnea seriously?
These posts are truly so depressing and common! Who are all these men out here thinking they're gonna fistfight Death and that breathing is for wimps? If he already knows the Jo Koy routine, my guess is recording the sound won't help. He thinks he's tougher than Shaq and Brett Favre, both of whom us

Oura Ring, Severe Sleep Apnea, and 48 Days of “Good” — What Their Own Support Confirmed in Writing
To measure SpO2 at high resolution, you need a device like Wellue O2Ring-S. It records SpO2 & heart rate every second. There are other options but this is the most comfortable form factor to wear IMO. I upload my CPAP data and O2Ring data into OSCAR (free open source software) to analyze my breathin

Observations after 3 nights with CPAP
Yes it takes time for body to heal. You might also consider using a Wellue O2Ring (or similar overnight oximeter) alongside CPAP. It tracks continuous oxygen levels and pulse rate, so you can see if your SpO₂ is staying stable through the night and whether micro-arousals or drops are still happening

Oxygen Saturation while Sleeping?
There is a slightly older study which had many more participants that describes SpO2 as a function of altitude for individuals while they are awake [1]. At 6,500 ft (~2,000 meters) 50% of individuals in the 18-50 age range were at 98% whereas 50% of individuals in the 50+ age range were at 96%. Ther

Continuous Blood Oxygen Monitor?
I use a wellue o2 ring. The spo2 and heart rate data can be imported to Oscar as well which is nice for spotting arousals.

Could this be UARS?
yes, symptom relief is the most important, and an accurate SpO2 ring such as Emay or Wellue: number and rate (per hr) heart rate spike (threshold based on your resting HR+10bpm, e.g.) can also be a useful measure.

1 Year Update - Still really tired all the time
I'd do EPR 1 and max pressure of 10. After that get a wellue o2 ring to monitor desaturations. After that you can get a bipap from some of the members here. The o2 ring will be a good start to give you information on what is going on in your body.

home pulse oximeters
No, my Wellue O2 Ring is a medically-accurate tracker of oxygen saturation, pulse, and movement every 4 seconds (less-expensive original model) or every 1 second (newest "-S" model). Graphs and summary reports are informative for patient and doctor. I think that the data is more granular and more me

To those with LC that took nicotine patches quick question
this is all the info for the nicotine patches:https://linktr.ee/thenicotinetest I also bought a ring that measures o2 and vibrates to wake you up if it gets low. This really helped me because it prevented my o2 from dropping so low that I would wake up in a panic with tunnel vision heart racing. The

Medical dismissal trauma is real. Being told “nothing’s wrong” when you’re suffering is damaging and invalidating. What you can do now: Seek a board-certified sleep medicine specialist (not just ENT) • Ideally one with experience in UARS, REM-related OSA, and non-CPAP options. • Look for specialists
