My Garmin takes forever to catch a signal in the winter. Sometimes I'll be just standing outside next to my my bike for 5-10mins waiting for the GPS to be ready before I can ride.
I had two VivoActive watches (3 and 4?), and switched to Wahoo Elemnt Rival for this exact reason. Many times, I would be a half hour into a ride before the Garmin kicked in. I've had the Rival for almost 2 years, and it hasn't given me any problems. The wait to connect to GPS is at most 3 minutes,

How do you record your data during a triathlon? Newbie with Forerunner 955 + Edge setup – advice welcome!
Wahoo elemnt Bolt + elemnt rival here. Already had the bike computer and as they seem to be discontinued I both the rival used for cheap. The thing is that wahoo has a built in triathlon mode which automatically registers split and transition times
