Taobao 50$ seller of robot

There's no way to get this made for that cheap.. The guy who developed it assembles it himself, it's not any big name company that takes a huge markup or anything, it's one of the best value for money lever machines you can get.. The images are surely those of the robot itself and not of their own p

Why the HELL is this so expensive??

Why should it be? It just looks like a Moka pot, it's a wholly different beast. It's making 9 bars of pressure on a frikking stovetop. For context, a pressure cooker gets upto 1 bar of pressure. Moka pot is between 1 and 2 bars. So the engineering, design and safety is highly non-trivial. On top of

I'm amazed at how good this little fucker makes espresso

Love my Picopresso for the office - saves me having to go to the awful chain stores around there and have a decent coffee. My only complaint is the slightly cooler temperature but such is the compromise for this type of machine. It really is amazing for the size and cost

Mokka pot coffee advice

Moka pot rules: 1 it is moka pot not an espresso machine2 never press down the grounds. It has to be loose in the basket3 there is no crema. Some grounds gives you foam but it is not crema!4 if you want espresso at home, buy an espresso machine The cheapest option for espresso with crema is the Waca

Mamma mia

I have a 1Zpresso X-Ultra and a picopresso. It's not not some god tier espresso setup, but it's not even 300$ total and still decent.

The Philips Baristina - I'm Not Angry, Just Disappointed

I own a Chemex, a V60 and a Picopresso. I also have a temperature control kettle, a 1Zpresso X-Ultra and a scale from Amazon. Admittedly this is more like 600 worth of gear, but the grinder and espresso machine on its own is about 300 and is more proper espresso than the baristina. Admittedly this i

Anyone else settle on one brewing method and stop chasing gear?

Well said. I feel exactly the same way. Already I've bought a few brewers that turns out, I didn't like, but the damage was only tens of dollars. I can't see myself spending hundreds to $1k+ on an espresso machine, like you said, and risk not liking it. The unused brewers take up a little space at t

Picopresso wear and tear

The pump broke on my Pico. However, Wacaco are really good with spares and they are cheap too. Customer support is second to none imo.

Picopresso Vs Robot Cafelat?

I have both. Pico for work and Robot for the house. The taste and build quality of the Robot is better. Shots from the Robot has a richer body with more sweetness. With that said, The picopresso is not too far behind in taste. I’ve had it for a year and I’m still impressed with the quality of shots

Crazy project with bicycle pump

Because I like to understand how things work, and wonder if I can improve!. Pico si simply awsome, small, cheap and taste very well. I can compete with 1k dollars machine, and it simply would be better to not make all those pumping. If I'd be in the Wacaco team, I'd add a cheap mod on the store for
