Modem and router are in the basement of my 3-story home. I have a Google nest mesh system but still have poor connection in some of the upstairs rooms. Any suggestions or recommendations for different mesh system?
Yep, Wi-Fi access from the basement in a 3-floor house is always tricky. Even with a mesh setup like Google Nest, thick floors and walls can really mess up the signal, especially upstairs. The first thing I’d try is moving your mesh nodes around. Place one on the ground floor and one upstairs, ideal

Finally found a solution to a lot of my Google Home issues, I hope this may help others
I had those same problems with my network of TP Link Deco X20 in mesh. The solution was to pass the Nest speakers to the 2.4GHz network and set the default node to which they must be connected.

WiFi for Detached Garage
A decent mesh with strategically placed access points will probably work just fine here. I like the TP-link Deco X20 if I’m building a non-unifi system.

Deco X20 & security cameras?
What mode do you plan to use the Deco X20 in? Router or AP? Your description would mean using them in AP mode and would work, keeping your existing router as the gateway for the network. Personally I would also run a cable for the camera in the basement rather than using the second ethernet port on

Mejor router o Wifi mesh

Nice try Reddit.
I have ATT fiber 1g in the center of the house and i disabled wifi on it so that my Deco x20 mesh can handle all wifi on its own. I have the 3 mesh access points spread through the house so everywhere should get good coverage. I split the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks so the "guest" network is only 2.4gh

pc disrupts wifi for every other device
I would say have your ISP replace the wifi router. I myself would never use the ISP router's wifi and routing because usually they are really bad. I use external wireless access points instead. Best case is I use the ISP modem in bridge mode to A router that handles and manages all the traffic (I ha

New Build - Ethernet cabling
Mesh TP-Link Deco X20, you can stick ethernet cable in the back to convert the wireless, good speeds, even better if you can backbone the nodes with cable.
