Just looking for your two cents on what I purchased..
Hey take my questions worth two grains of salt but have you considered the tp-link deco mesh they are pretty inexpensive compared to orbi imo. And they are interchangeable (e.g. one x20 as the main and 3 s4’s)

Spectrum or Frontier Internet?
Five year old router technology. I suggest upgrading to a mesh network. Try the TP-Link Deco S4 system for testing purposes.

Fearing the Mesh upgrade
Consumer-grade equipment often can't handle dozens of wireless clients efficiently. Assuming that your setup is like this: Bridged ISP > Primary S4 > Switch > The rest of your stuff . . . then you should be seeing decent wired speeds. If you get 1GB speeds when directly connected to your ISP's route

Would this work?

These are minimum recommended specifications for OpenWrt (in other words, Deco S4 is a very basic device). As is,

How can I provide internet for my neighbor across the street?
Get a mesh network router. Put one in your window, put the other in his. I.e. the TP-Link Deco ( is the S4 or better ) or MERCUSYS Halo H60X ones or better.

Help!
Get a wifi extender or maybe two - they can create a mesh network with your downstairs wifi router and extend your wifi as far as you want. 2.4 GHz Wifi can only go maybe 100 feet where there are walls or floors, or 40 feet for 5 GHz, so you may need multiple wifi extenders to daisy-chain their way
