Confused by modems, mesh networks and routers

Pick something in your price range towards the top of this list and you'll be sweet: Choice Wi-Fi Routers If you've got a bigger home, pick one that supports mesh and either get a pack or multiple units. My value pick is the tp link be230.

Beacon 3.1 when requesting beacon 6

They won't recommend routers beyond what they supply. I did my own research and ended up getting a TP-LINK BE230. It's easy to set up, has WIFI 7, and supports the PPoE needs of the EBOX connection. About $130 and commonly available. If you need better WiFi coverage than one device will provide, the

6 GHZ Spectrum Already Used by Wifi Now Eligible for Auction

It's cheaper than tri band but WAY more expensive than a good wifi 6 system. No, not really, you can get a wifi 7 tplink router for like $90. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Dual-Band-Archer-BE230-HomeShield/dp/B0DC99N2T8 It even has 2 x 2.5 Gb ports, this thing is WAY more than what 99% of people ne

Best budget router for WiFi 7?

Wirecutter says the TP-Link Archer BE230 is best, $89 at Walmart and $1 more at Amazon.

Wifi 7 budget routers, TP-Link Archer BE230 vs ASUS TUF-BE3600?

TP-Link is much more reliable. ASUS routers have been very unstable recently, firmware bugs and all kinds of stuff. If I'm being honest, you should just get the BE230.

Hand-me-down router has hit end of life and I'm not sure what to get

OK, that's understandable. I saw somewhere else in the comments that your unit is like a hallway shape, which could explain why you're not getting the best coverage. If the router isn't as centrally located as possible, I would recommend doing that. I doubt you need a full mesh system for your apart

Tapo D130 disconnecting on Eero 7

OK, gotcha, in that case any consumer router should work fine. If you want to pick up your wifi from a block away, that WRT-3200 is great. If you want something more tame, then I would suggest a TP-Link, really anything that fits your budget. I like the Deco system, but their standard routers are fi

Home network advice needed

CAT6 is fine, no need for CAT6A. CAT6 is less expensive and has a smaller cable diameter (~6mm vs ~7.5mm for CAT6A) so it's more flexible, easier to pull and and easier to terminate. CAT6A requires CAT6A-rated modular plugs and an appropriate tool to terminate. CAT6 will handle up to 5GbE at 100m an
