Looking for a comprehensive list of differences between the Software on the Kobo Clara BW and Tolino Shine 5
I only had the Kobo Clara BW for a relatively short time (I am more into PocketBooks), and all I know about the Shine 5 is via mails with my sister and when I can get my hands in it when being at Thalia. Thank you. Apparently, for the tolino shine at least this doesn't work. Or only works if a patch is installed.

PSA: if you turn your tolino into a kobo it'll become more prone to crashes, refusing to open large books
Only the latest devices (shine 5 and vision color) allow it as they are already kobos with additional tolino software. Previous versions had totally different operating systems. Onleihe altogether doesn't work with kobo as that DRM isn't used anywhere else. Which also doesn't make it a priority to i

You can convert (Downgrade) your Tolino Shine 5 to a Kobo Clara BW, with all the Features that are missing on 5.x.x Firmware.
Disconnect your device; it will apply the update, and you will be prompted to create a Kobo account. After that, you can use Sync to update the firmware directly from the ereader, which will download the latest version of the Kobo firmware. Done step 4 this but my Tolino Shine 5 show latest firmware
