People keep hitting my brand new telluride…
I’d focus on how you’re powering parking mode. A lot of dash cams sound good on paper, but for hit and runs the setups people seem happiest with are hardwired with low-voltage cutoff or paired with an external battery so you’re not killing the starter battery. Buffered parking mode matters too becau

New Owner!!
Screen saver from Amazon is probably the cheapest and best accessory to protect that super soft infotainment screen. I had THINKWARE U3000 Pro front and rear Dashcam installed. Uses OBD II power connector so no fuse box taps and has one of the best parking modes to save battery drain.

My parked car got hit twice this year, looking for a dashcam that actually helps in parking mode
I use a Thinkware U3000 2ch plugged into the OBD port on my car. It did fully catch a hit and run in parking mode earlier this year. I plugged it in directly on a 1999 Honda CR-V for over a year and now on an 04 cr-v and I’ve never had any battery issues with it

Remote start to charge while away?
My question now is, I am going away for a month, and given I have a remote start on my car app, would it be viable to leave my low voltage cut off low for security parking mode and remote start my vehicle every so often so the battery doesn’t get run down? No. The time your vehicle will idle is limi

Dashcam front (windshield) cable / wire route to rear dashcam - ROVE
I had a dashcam only shop install my THINKWARE U3000 PRO, and he avoided the airbags, but remember he ran the cable inside the lower door jam where the wires go for the sill lights rather than overhead. He spent over 3 hours installing correctly, well worth paying the Pros rather than breaking a cli

Will OEM Battery Support Dash Cam with Parking Mode?
I installed a Thinkware U3000 in my 2025 odyssey about 6 weeks ago and haven’t had any issues with parking mode. I used an OBD2 power adapter. I do have several things working in my favor though: The van is a daily driver, it’s garaged and I live in the south where the garage never gets below freezi

Dash Cam
Running Thinkware U3000 Pro, with Thinkware iVolt battery and Thinkware Connected LTE module in the WRX. My Outback is running Thinkware U3000 with Thinkware iVolt mini. U3000 is a solid camera with radar parking mode to extend parking mode time. U3000 Pro is slightly better than the regular U3000,

Power to Dashcam
Unfortunately a lot of dash cams are unreliable and don't record when needed. Wiring most dash cams to always get power will cause them to run down the vehicle battery. I recommend getting a Thinkware Q200 or U3000 and the optional ODB2 cable. This lets you use a plug near the steering wheel, and ch

Rear dash cam!
I replaced a thinkware f200 (which ran since 2018) with a q200 because it’s relatively cheap and the mounting was the same. I run a q800 in my weekend car I’m generally happy with the brand, buy their app feel like it needs some work. I still but their products though, have been using them for bette
