yes i’ve done a lot of battery logging. my issue is in normal “smartwatch” mode. burns .625% per hour. this is an average after many discharge cycles and 1 hard reset. for me, it was the (involuntary) update last fall. i still like suunto watches for nostalgic reasons but my V1 stays on the dresser.

Suunto Vertical 2 can do 65 hours with max GPS accuracy (dual-band) and AMOLED display, while using maps and navigation. So that can be done. But that is a bit larger watch. Personally, I wouldn't buy a watch if it had specs you mentioned. I need longer battery runtime in more accurate GPS modes.

I understand your point and you are right but I am not pointing here to the regular Suunto watch lineup. This is an anniversary watch which will be bought by the Suunto fans, not by the transitory Apple Watch owners. The special edition Vertical 2 will be useless in 10 years when the firmware is not
