Why is Suunto not as popular than the other sport watch brands?
I recently got a Solar versio of the vertical 1 and for me the reasons were (in no order). MIP display (yeah... I know the newer Suunto moved to amoled...) Solar charging for insane battery life (only possible with mip displays) Used to the Suunto ecosystem coming from a Suunto 9 baro Suunto is not

Is Suunto still a bit of a lost cause in your opinion(s)?
Suunto watches never were a lost cause in my opinion. Well, they had a known problem with one of their gps modules, but my Suunto Vertical Solar is running and running and running like a charm.

Any converts from Suunto here?
So, the OHR is definitely better across all Polar devices, at least prior to Race 2 and Vertical 2. Did a run with a series of strides yesterday: Race connected to H10 on one hand, V3 on the other using its OHR. V3 matched Race beat-for-beat, and that's pretty much has been my experience over the ye

Can someone give a definitive ranking of the flagship watches.
Race 2 and Vertical 2 are basically the same watch. Your choice should depend on whether you want the watch to have a bit more battery life (Vertical 2) or be more thin and lightweight (Race 2). Also, whether you want a scrolling crown (Race 2) or flashlight (Vertical 2). First gen Vertical 1 is the

Suunto Vertical 1 – A Few Questions About the Future + Questions About the Vertical 2 and a Comparison with the Coros Nomad / the New Vertix 2026
I'll just tackle a couple of these. I don't think anyone knows what's in store for new watches or software. I used to have a Vertical 1, and now own a Vertical 2. There is nothing I miss on the V1. I have my watch set to raise to wake, and I do a lot of trail running. I have no issues at all with th

Optimizing my Vertical 2
You drop about 5% battery per day on the Vertical 2 and Race 2 when used in typical smartwatch mode. Give or take a few percentage points based on what settings you have, how often you use the watch, and battery differences between the two models. That battery drain works out pretty close to Suunto'

Open to being converted…
I adore my Suunto's, they are the only smartwatches that I genuinely like, all the others I've tried have led to me going back to analog. And they can take pretty good beating, I'm not nor have I ever been active duty military or sworn law enforcement, but I'm an outdoor pro, a working dog handler,

Coros Apex 4, Suunto Vertical 2, Suunto Race 2, or Garmin Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar
I think the issue is people often pick a brand and stick with it until/unless they have issues. I’m a huge fan of Suunto. Suunto with their fused GPS and barometric was big in the alpinism/ski mountaineering community 15+ years ago so I started with them. I was halfway tempted to switch to Garmin ab

Vertical titanium solar: honest review from a long time smart watch user
And yet I paid this amount of money for Suunto Vertical 2. Why? Because I do ultramarathons that require me up to 40-50 hours of continuous activity recording with high GPS accuracy, navigation, and maps. Please list all the smartwatches that can do that. I can assure you the list will be very short

Grit X2 Pro vs Suunto...
I’m using a race 2 (very similar to the vertical 2) side by side atm. The grit x2 pro is built MILES better than the suunto. I bought the suunto titanium and it’s literally just a little titanium ring on top of a plastic watch. The upgrade felt like a waste. The polar has a great finish that takes b
