Suunto Run + Runna
Is the Suunto Run advertised to be compatible? Usually, the workouts for that external services are pushed as SuuntoPlus Guides. And the Run is the only watch in the current lineup that does not support SuuntoPlus...

Returning my Race 2 tomorrow. Really wanted to love it.
Garmin does a great job of that. Structured interval training that you can create either in the app or on the watch. Then, the unstructured interval training that you can do on the watch... The information you get during the interval training and after... Almost perfect... I'm also disappointed with

Suunto Run + Runna
You can create trainings with suunto ai on app, but it's not compatible to sync it to device, message on app is that this device does not support it. I've got Suunto Run, now Race 2

Using the watch without the app ?
The Suunto Run does not have on-device wifi, and cannot sync without connecting to the app via Bluetooth. Further, Suunto only offers a mobile app, and does not provide a web portal like Garmin or Coros do. Finally, INSTALL SECURITY UPDATES ON YOUR DEVICES.

Suunto Run issues
The Suunto Run doesn’t support SuuntoPlus guides (e.g. Runna, intervals.icu), only the interval workouts you create in the app are supported. You need a Race/S/2 to use SuuntoPlus. They may add support in the future but it’s as yet undecided so it’s a bit of an unknown right now.

Marathon Mode not available on Race 2, available on Run
Because the Suunto Run doesn't have access to the SuuntoPlus app repository. At least not yet. The Race 2 does. The SuuntoPlus app "Store" has several running related apps that have that functionality that you can freely add or remove to the watch and dynamically select or unselect during sport mode

Suunto Run vs Amazfit
I'll go with COROS Pace 3 / 4 for that price. Hardware is only 1 thing, but software is lot important. I have tried both SUUNTO Run and Amazfit Active 2 (little brother) but I keep on getting back to COROS for its software simplicity yet feature-packed and accurate which is used by top athletes as w

Garmin 165 vs Suunto Run
The Suunto run is pretty much the only instance of that happening within Suunto watches. Even the older watches with less processing power like the vertical 1 and 9PP are still receiving meaningful updates and features ported back from the newer watches. Can't say the same about Garmin with all that

Choosing a daily driver — Suunto Run vs Race 2 (or other options)?
You should remember that the Race 2 is an advanced sports watch, not a smartwatch, so the lack of payment isn't surprising. The Race 2 itself has an NFC module (as it's a communication protocol), used for things like communication with headphones. I don't recommend Suunto Run; it's a bit of a side e

Is Suunto Race still worth a look in late 2025?
The Suunto Run uses an OS of its own, that was not opted for the newer Race 2 and Vertical 2. Meaning, it's unlikely Suunto will keep investing in an OS used just for one watch. The Run was a test and the result is a watch that needs many more updates to correct little things. I know this because I
