How accurate do you find the running technique measurements?

I own a Suunto Run watch and a Stryd 5.0 foot pod. The avg. Vertical Oscillation from Suunto Run is usually around 9-10cm, but avg. Vertical Oscillation from the Stryd pod is always closer to 6cm. The Ground Contact Time from Suunto Run is usually 250-260ms, but Stryd shows 290-300ms. The Stryd valu

Suunto Race S vs Coros Pace Pro

Influencers are terrible at showing the ecosystem, so it's a great question. I typed this up to someone's similar question in r/Coros, so I'll re-post here. Suunto pros: Suunto industrial design, UI design, screen quality, and build quality is ridiculously good. Native support for pace, power, and H

Coros v suunto

Suunto pros: - Suunto industrial design, UI design, screen quality, and build quality is ridiculously good.- Native support for pace, power, and HR zones. (Coros is cagey about power.) But I'd hedge this by saying Coros HR/Pace zones and fitness estimates are better. Suunto is a bit of a chore to ma

Suunto "Running Power" is just (a simple function of) GAP

I train exclusively by running power, although I use Stryd, not Suunto's builtin power. Here's a few comments on your observations: Suunto "Running Power" is just (a simple function of) GAP Yup, pretty much. A basic running power model that models external work would sum up the resistances of runnin

questions about Suunto vs Garmin on VO2 max, HRV etc

Suunto Run user with almost a month of use, coming from Garmin Forerunner / Fenix 6 Pro and others... I've been running (cycling and swimming occasionally) regularly since 2010. I have had several other Garmin and Suunto models. VO2 max over time When I stopped using my Forerunner 165, I had a VO2 M

Run and Suunto in general

The Suunto Run for me was a disaster in terms of accuracy. HR was so delayed it was laughable. Garmin’s Elevate Gen 3, 4, 5 have all been far superior in my experience. It seems the newer sensors in the Race 2 and Vertical 2 are performing much better - but you’ll need to double check that.

Weird HR Issue

What watch? I'm on a Suunto Run and received a brand new Suunto Smart Belt yesterday because I thought my last one was faulty... But the issue remains with the new one. Completely wrong numbers... Suunto continues having stupid errors with HR. When the watch is ok, the belt doesn't work... It's frus

New watch recommendations Forerunner 70 or Suunto Run

You intentionally misconstrued my clear point about being good enough for daily running vs not good enough for daily running, and deliberately painted a false equivalence. I'm telling you that Garmin and Coros wrist-based OHR implementations since ~2023 work for practically all users for various for

Run and Suunto in general

All bullshit Chinese behind brand. Stop go for suunto. If you want the best he sensor, go for Huawei. Suunto run is super stupid watch. A lot of error software. And hardware doesn't that great. Guy, just watch The quantified scientist YouTube channel. You will decide on Huawei and Samsung.

New watch recommendations Forerunner 70 or Suunto Run

If you are relying on the watch for accurate optical HR monitoring, avoid the Suunto Run.
