Garmin FR265 v Suunto Race S

You'll get maps with Race S. Payment, Spotify etc comes with forerunner. Personally I've moved back and forth between Suunto and Garmin, lately from Tactix 8 to Race. And with Suunto you get the basic stuff done extremely good and it is lot simpler. You set it up once and that's it, it'll work. Metr

Buy Race / Race S now or wait for update?

I really like my Suunto race s, the only criticism I have of it is the intervals are a bit crap, everything else is pretty awesome, it’s been out a year now, I can’t see them releasing a new one any time soon, although after they have just released the new line with the run it’s hard to say, that’s

What running watch do you use?

Suunto Race S. I've found it meets every need for training and race day. I do use it as an everyday watch as well, but really for time and notifications. If you're looking for something that doubles as a full smartwatch, you might want to look at other options.

Want to buy a Suunto, but a little nervous…

I do not have Suunto race 2, but i own race s for 3 months and everything works fine. Sleep tracking is a little limited compared to my Oura, but overall no issues with sleep tracking, no issues with heart rate sensor (tbh i ran chest strap, but other activities HR seems good). Overall experience is

I bought Suunto Race S & Coros Pace Pro

I came from Garmin and have been using Race S for about 6 months now, I’ve been very satisfied and feel it’s an upgrade. The watch and software are solid, I don’t really have any complaints. Optical HR is suprisingly accurate, I do use HR belt nowadays but was completely satisfied with the OHR of th

What made you use Suunto vs. Garmin

Software first and foremost, specially the app. Garmin is a mess after my trials. Second, business practices and trying avoid buying from US firms, Garmin culture is for me perceived as not worth to support. Third the looks of the Suunto and.functions (Race) seemed workout great for my needs better

A new, small watch

I think a watch smaller than Race S is unlikely for the following reasons: A small watch means a small battery inside, which means a short battery life in smartwatch mode considering a power hungry AMOLED display. Users won't like that and Suunto seems to has completely moved away from MIP displays.

What do you value most in a watch? Simplicity or tons of subjective data?

For context: I also cycle and occasionally hike, but the watch for me is primarily used for running. Since last summer, I've been using a Race S Ti for marathon prep. My priorities are reliability, GPS accuracy, and ease of use. A pleasing design is a bonus. Having now recorded in excess of 120 acti

Coros Pace 3 -> Suunto Race S

Yes, you can create structured workouts. The major complaint about them is that they lack sufficient audible/vibration notifications. I'd suspect improvements are coming, but I don't know for sure. Most training data are presented using TrainingPeaks' metrics, which are top-notch and are very recogn
