Is the 9PP still worth it today?
I love it and think it's a steal at the current prices, but also realize I might be in the minority. I wore a Vertical 1 for a long time, but picked up a titanium 9PP last year when they went on sale and it's now my preferred everyday watch. It does everything the SV1 does minus maps and is so much

the ultimate soul-crushing experience: watch dying at 95.89km during a 100k. i need your wildest battery engineering hacks for my next race in april.
The battery life available in a $250 Coros watch (41 hours of GPS usage) is super solid. You get 40 hours with Suunto 9 Peak Pro, which is awesome, glad there are options, but Garmin can only get you 19 hours. That's not good enough

Suunto vs Garmin
Hey there, Good call leaning towards Suunto. It's a fantastic choice if you want to avoid the feature-overload and app clutter of other brands and get a watch that's durable and easy to use. For your main activities – mountain biking and hiking – the choice between the two Suuntos you're looking at

Garmin vs. Polar

buying a suunto spartan sport wrist HR baro (2017) in 2026?
The battery in it alone makes it NOT worth buying - I've an old Suunto 9 (the model that replaced the Spartan) and it's doing well if it gets five days. If Suunto is what you want, then would suggest saving a little more and buying a modern model - 9 Peak Pro is the oldest Suunto worth considering p

Suunto 9PP or Garmin FR255? (Beginner)
I’ve got a 9PP and a FR955, which is very similar to the 255. The 9PP has much longer battery life when recording activities. Materials quality is higher (steel/titanium and sapphire vs plastic and gorilla glass). The 9PP is a bit smaller, though not lighter. I find the Suunto route planner much bet

GPS Watches
My Suunto Ambit 3 Peak is pretty old now but still does the job well. I had to replace the band a year or 2 ago but that was pretty cheap (generic one.) In Trekking mode (60 sec ping) it used ~5% battery a full day (10 hours) of hiking but recently (this past weekend actually) It used 10% for ~8 hou

Smart hodinky s bateriou s dlhou vydrzou.

Best watch for navigation and maps while hiking?
The Suunto Vertical or Suunto 9 Peak Pro are your best options for navigation and maps. They provide good map detail and navigation features and smoother interaction. They have long lasting battery as well. If you are considering their watches with a high-resolution AMOLED screen, Race S will be one
