Got focal alpha 50 evo yesterday, extremely disappointed, it's not the type of sound I was looking for. It sounds hi-fi, not like studio monitors. It sounds too laid back, the sound is not present (mellow sound), very soft timbre, not metallic like I had on JBLs. It sounds exactly like Superlux 668b

That is actually really convincing, thanks a lot. I checked Superlux, and the reviews seem really good for that price. I also came across the Superlux HD 668B. It is around 30 euros, but it has better cable management. Were you able to try that one as well? I think I would prefer over-ear headphones
