Buying a bookshelf-stereo system
The speakers that come with those kinds of mini-hifi systems are probably always going to be crappy. There’s simply not enough budget to get great components. For somewhat cheap but decent stand-alone passive speakers, look into e.g. these. Maybe you can find some second hand: Polk Audio Monitor XT2

Which speakers made you enjoy your music the most?

Favorite EQ settings?
speakers are critical part of the equation setting math. i have Sony sscs5 that are notoriously bright so adjusted to harmon eq using pe settings recommended by spinorama.
