Okay, what is ACTUALLY the best camera (rant/discussion)??

You are asking about the best camera, but have a budget of entry level camera... For that price Z50II or sony a6500, a6600 or a6700 I'd say that sony might be better way to go because of IBIS. If he has intention to go for Nikon Z series cameras in the future as well, then Z50II is great choise! I t

Do street photographers just accept confrontation as part of the process?

I shoot street from the hip all the time. I use a Sony A6600 with 24mm f1.4 lens. That translate to a 35mm lens in full frame equivalent. I use continuous auto focus with human eye detection. I also put a circular spirit level on the hot shoe mount. I practice holding the lens in a way that the spir

Sony A6600 body at ₹55,000, worth it in 2026 for beginner?

A6600 is a very good camera. Avoid the kit lens. You can also get a7iii or a7c at around 80-85k used. But better buy new a6600. (I like my devices new, sorry). Keep in mind that a6600 is officially discontinued by Sony.

Should I get the Sony a6600 or a6700 as my first camera?

If your focus is wildlife, the Sony 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 is a better lens (sharper, better AF performance, good optical stabilisation). It's quite an expensive lens (by APS-C standards), but often goes on sale (on Amazon and elsewhere). Maybe get it with a used A6600, to keep within budget, though aut

Can Sony Ever Feel Like Fuji?

I don't think that's quite it but maybe a club-handed shorthand? I shoot both sony (a74, a6600, rx100v) and fujifilm X-T5. I like them both and use them differently. The crop sensors are more portable with smaller glass so they are great for travel, either the sony or the fujifilm. I use the full fr

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! January 09, 2026

Well, a 50mm f1.8 prime lens, perfect for portraits, would already be a good sort of an improvement at a fraction of your budget. But of course the D300 is very aged now, nearly 20 years. For your budget you could get any of the APS-C cameras currently on the market AND a 50mm f1.8 prime lens. If yo

Beginner photography camera?

Don't get a full frame for street photography! You have to enjoy carrying it and that will make you get out there and shoot more. the body and lenses are too much of a hassle for most for full frame. (I own full frame systems and apsc) If you're getting something brand new, something like a canon r1

Need suggestions for building a kit for under $3000 USD?

Given your budget and all the things you need to fit into my suggestion would be used a6600, Tamron 17-70 f/2.8, and Sony 55-210. That brings you to about $1800, so leaves you $1200 for laptop and accessories. It’s a squeeze but doable. The main argument for the Sigma 18-50 over the Tamron 17-70 is

Best Camera Under 55k

This is not a good advice. OP wants “nice background blur” which is very difficult to achieve in small aperture kit lenses. I think your best option would be getting a used a6400/a6600 with a wide aperture prime lens. I recommended the sony cameras just because they can be found in relatively good u
