Just got the DualShock 4 500 million LE (new) after using my original DS4 for 8 yrs!!!!
It looks so good specially that translucent design. Never owned a second controller let alone a LE one. Got this for PS4 slim btw

Just a rant - I'm so done with the constant troubleshooting ever since I switched to Linux
I use Mint and haven't had any issues I didn't cause myself (like deleting a systemd config file or something). From OPs worries, I use a TV and a monitor with HDMI and DisplayPort, respectively, and both just work. I use a DualShock 4 controller, Bluetooth and buttons work perfectly, and all games

I used to build fightsticks "a few" years ago and this technique was more or less popular for a wireless PS4 compatible fightstick at the time (at least in my region). It took some meticulous work but it was affordable. Did you ever used one of these PCBs? Was it too laggy?

Suggestion: Allow PS4 users to edit using the Dualshock 4 Touchpad
It's surprisingly sensitive, and recognises both finger position and motions such as swipe. Would be a great way to edit walls and stairs if implemented well, even if it only recognised a small subset of possible edits, i.e. draw a square to add a door or window to a wall, or diagonal swipe to edit
