The fx3 is still on top because it’s good enough to be relevant and they seamlessly slot into productions at every level - from entry level videography to Venice sets that just want one more angle, (like a crash cam), and everything

12800 ISO on the Sony FX3 is a native ISO so if you're in a low-light situation it's probably best to use 12,800. And then in post can adjust exposure some more if you have to. Personally if 12,800 is still too dark overall you might want to start adding some lights to the scene.

Sony had a head start in the mirrorless video market, and pretty much became the default. The FX3 and FX30 are some of the cheaper dedicated "cinema" cameras (even if they're more of a stills form factor). If I’m not mistaken, the FX3 is still one of the most popular cameras on the market (in the top 5 on Amazon, I believe) - so, sure. Maybe there’s cheaper (better? Up to you!) alternatives around, but until Sony releases the mark 2, or something else drastic happens, I would imagine the price staying

The Office was shot on Sony broadcast style cameras, I think the SRW9000? These are 2/3” CMOS with a B4 mount common to most broadcast cameras. The lenses used on these kinds of cameras are often extreme focal ranges, like 8mm-120mm, and usually are par focal, allowing those crash zooms to be extra

Lmaoooo 🤣🤣🤣 thanks for this comment made me feel better about the situation! The worst part! Is I went out of way to for this wedding I rented out a Sony fx3 because I wanted to get the best image quality possible.

Sony FX3/FX6 or Canon C50/C80/C400. Travelling with bigger cameras, especially those that require a bit of putting together, is a pain in the ass. Not impossible, of course, but having done a bit of travel work (and shot many music videos that could easily have been shot on an FX3 with no compromise

Sony ZV-E1. You can buy used ones for less than $1500. Camera has the same low light sensor as the A7Siii/fx3.

Can’t use a Panasonic card in a Sony. The data will fall out. Sorry bud! Gotta return the FX3.

Hmm nikon and lumix seem more relevant in a number of ways. Sony is still all about a7siii and fx3/6.
