DSLR or Mirrorless? What Camera Are You Using and Why?
I started shooting back in 1999, long before mirrorless was a thing. My roots were in Canon SLRs and later high-end DSLRs, and I shot pretty much everything over the years. Sports, landscapes, portraits, studio work. I was using serious bodies at the time like the Canon EOS 3 and later EOS-1D, 5D se

Brand new S9 + 20-60mm vs Used Sony A7C for family/travel photos. No brainer?
it was for me. I'm also in the no EVF is fine camp and lumix handles the e shutter fine (to avoid banding). I LOVE that it's full frame and (for me) the 18-40mm is a dream. So small but also a perfect range for me. I've owned most of the 5D bodies with a 17-40mm... I've shot sony. I've owned an A7c.

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?
I have the a6300, a7ii and a7r4. On the Olympus side, I have the OM-1.ii and E-P7. I don't use the kit lens on the Olympus cameras - I mostly use the 12-40/2.8 PRO. The Sony kit lens is shit, and the kit lenses I have for my older Olympus cameras are excellent, and so are samples I've seen online fo

It is up to you but another factor for me is that I prefer the Sony 200-600mm over the Canon 200-800mm. The internal zoom mechanism is really nice to have and adds to the weather sealing of the lens. Also, it is a faster lens overall but it is mitigated a bit by using an APS-C body. In terms of reac

Lens recommendations for film scanning
I use the Olympus 80mm, macro bellows, and slide copier for 35mm all the time. I use a Sony a7r-Iv on the back though. It’s fast and efficient, the lens isn’t perfect but it more than makes up for that in convenience and configurability. Will need to look into this Air, never heard of them before.

Considering the switch to mirrorless… but which one?
I have a similar story to yours. I had been amassing a good number of L lenses for a 5dMkIII, doing mostly just family shoots (large extended family) when I jumped to mirrorless. First mistake: I chose Panasonic APSC because it was the cheapest body I could find that did 4k videos (was starting to g

How do I get clean shots of Jets without being too dark?
I've only taken a couple shots of moving planes so take this feedback with a grain of salt.. I think your shutter is far too slow here, hence the motion blur when you zoom in. The aperture is probably ok, though given the distance they are from you you might be able to go with a faster aperture. If

Is the Z6III right for me?
Not sure this will totally help. But here is my 2 cents worth. I own a Nikon Z7II and formerly owned the Sony A7RII. My wife currently owns the Sony A7RIV and formerly owned the A7C. Having said all that it comes down to what feels best in YOUR hands. These all have great image quality and excellent

If this isn’t one of the most KY things I’ve ever seen!
Im sorry to hear about your back but hopefully you're on the mend now and can go out birding ! Are you into photography ? I had a Sony A7r4 with a 100-400 GM but sold it but now wish i hadn't because i really got some beautiful photographs of birds in South Florida and here in Louisville. 😢😢😢

Which camera I should buy?
Well If you think 42.4 Mpix would be enough for you then I would go for a7riii (it's at the point that it should keep its value now) and spend more on lenses Lenses will keep their value better and for you good lenses should be quite essential On the other hand cameras will lose their value faster -
