This week's walk. Tried some street photography

Thanks a lot! These are all shot with Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 on a Sony A7C II. I absolutely love that setup

Stuck in upgrade paralysis

Why do you need such great ibis for that use case? I switched from Fuji/sony to Nikon, but I’d probably pick a Sony A7C II or an Fujifilm X-T5 for your use case. The Nikon is much heavier.

Sony A7C vs a6700 -- is it worth the extra money?

If you want a more compact setup, need more reach (wildlife, birding), plan to shoot video or use third-party strobes - get A6700. It's arguably the best APS-C on the market, and it is great. The sensor readout speed is amazing for video, and it has a proper full-mechanical shutter so you won't have

As someone who did exactly this just to sell it all and keep the X100vi and my sony A7cR... It's not worth it. More lenses, Bodies, gear... It doesn't make you a better photographer. Just go out have fun and take pictures of anything with what you have

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! May 08, 2026

Hey all, I used to own a Canon SL3 and a 50mm prime. Loved the portraits I got of my wife while travelling, but hated how far back I had to stand because of the crop factor. The kit lens also didn’t look much better than my iPhone. I’ve been using my iPhone Pro for two years now, but there lots of m

Should I consider buying a camera?

Getting an actual camera is a good idea, although iPhone photography is actually quite underestimated. In your case, since you are learning you should totally get something tactile and manual. And since you travel a lot it should be small, even more if you are used to a phone. But you should definit

Why does Panasonic pump out premium m43 cameras but make the S9 so cheap and plastic?

But if it's a personal every day cam how critical is it you have to use synchro shot instead of mech shutter to do photos without banding and you can't use flash but you could use a continuous video light instead? Would you be like oh my god I've missed one of the most important photos of my life? I

When to upgrade Camera gear? Help...

Hey! Maybe the FX3 is way too expensive compared to your lenses. Could you consider using an older body? I'm using an a7III and an a7C for corporate videos (solo shooter) and it works well for me, even if I know they can't do 4K 50 for example. You could also consider non Sony brands like the Tamron
