Bday gift for a 15yr old
Ignore anything negative here like SoggyBalance. You got this because it's meaningful to you to gift to her. They obviously do not understand that. I just bought my niece a A6100 for her senior year in HS because phones are now banned and she wanted to take pics to document this year. It has gone wa

Leaving the Fuji X100VI
The Fuji and the Ricoh are both more photographer’s cameras than pick up and use by anyone cameras. If you’re skilled they can sing beautifully but if you aren’t then they aren’t doing much. Also, if she doesn’t like one she’s probably not going to get along with the other. If you want something eas

If this your first time buying and using a camera, I would probably spend less on it and see if you would like it before dropping that much money on it. You can buy a Canon R50/Sony a6100 + Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 for around $1000-$1100 used and the kit will perform amazing without needing to buy a full-

Is the ashtray distracting ?
When I shot this picture I found it interesting the way the light hits the table, it’s a little too underexposed that’s for sure but still I found it interesting. This image was shot with: Camera: sony a6100 Lens: sigma 56mm f1.4 Settings: iso 100 1/1000s f2.8

Recommended flash for Sony A6100
For hobbyist usage? A V480-S ($170) on/off camera; or a TT685 II-S ($130) off-camera with an X3-S ($90) or X3Pro-S ($100) transmitter. But. If you're bound and determined to get a tiny itsy-bitsy not-that-powerful mini/accessory flash, the upcoming iT32+X5S would not require the riser to get high en

A bit late, but my Brother In Law managed to get some amazing shots of the Sydney Bridge/Opera House on New Years from his balcony.
Thank you! Sony a6100. He’s only just started dabbling in photography now and I think he’s doing great for an amateur (may be a little bias). You can check out his other photos on insta if you use it “samsmeaton8”

Is it worth selling my Sony gear for Fuji?
I like the a6600/a6400/a6100 sensor well enough, but like a lot of that first gen Sony experience it takes a dialing-in period. a7rii had its ups and downs, but could give the worst results given the right (wrong) situation

I would look into buying an used Sony a6100/a6400, Canon R50 or Nikon Z50 I/II with a good all-rounder lens like the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 (only for Sony and Canon R50). All the cameras listed will take great photos so I'd visit a local camera store to see how they feel in your hands and see which one
