First time learning manual, testing a lot of things but my images are coming out too bright - any feedback?
I've shot off and on for 20 years, back at it for about 3. it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize how the light meter in my viewfinder worked. Make sure you're using it to check that you're in the ballpark where you need to be. Metering modes can be helpful to. A highlight metering mode w

Best hybrid camera (ideally sony)
Over the past 5 years, I’ve gone from a pure photographer, to mainly videographer - with Sony kit. Full time freelance doing events (fitness and wedding), portraits/headshots, social media content, corporate talking head interviews/testimonials etc So have also been on a neverending quest to find th

Which camera system to buy for birding? Esp birds in flight
Do not buy the older A9. There are so many camera bodies that are better now. You could get an A6700, or even an A9II with a lens and still have money left to spare. Keep in mind the A9s are lower resolution that other bodies you're looking at, so you will have to be able to get closer to your subje

Viltrox FE 85mm f1.4 - action photography
It did acceptable. I haven't had a Sony lens since I got my A9ii, so I can't compare, but I didn't notice much difference from my standard Tamron 35-150. All the photos I shot that night were at f1.6 so plenty of light to help with focus. I chose the Viltrox because I plan to use it for portraits, w

What cameras are most comparable to the Nikon Z8?
If you’re doing strictly bird/animal photography you may want to check out om systems. Micro 4/3 sensor with 20mp so lenses are smaller and easier to pack and travel with and their focus tracking on birds is excellent. Not as many mp so you can’t crop as much but a 400mm is about equal to a 800mm on

picking the body for wildlife/sport
i would go with a z 8 just because I have the holy grail of lenses in nikon but the sony a9ii is a great camera . I am not sure if I did it all over again if I just would not go with sony from the start but if you are just doing photos and not video the nikon d5 or d6 would be my pick

Ive narrowed down my camera search to a choice between sony and fujifilm. thoughts?
I currently shoot Sony. A9ii. Extraordinarily good camera, but in the day to day, if your set up isn’t earning you money, and you’re unable to claim a tax benefit, you are stuck in a system hat has really high quality glass, but it will require the sacrifice of your fist child to afford it. It’s not

How do I improve my sports photography specifically in basketball?
No. The Sony focus is just as good but I prefer the extra megapixels and the faster CF cards of the Z8. The A9ii is much lighter though and 70-200 is just as good as the current S Nikon lens. I like the Nikon color better but both can be adjusted.

Buying an Olympus OM-D EM5 MK II in Late 2025
I was already in m4/3 at the time and didn't want to deal with X-Trans files from Fujifilm, so the X-T4 and the like were out. At the time I thought I'd be m4/3 until I or it dies, so Nikon and Sony didn't come into it either. I've since built a Sony system that I need for work, but otherwise I stil
