Budget Lowlight Sensors?

Used A7Sii Can be had cheap, still has low light capabilities that is only really surpassed by the 3, and you can adapt your EF glass EDIT: You can remove the 30 min record limit by installing the playmemories tweak app. I've used it for years and it's never failed

Did the Safdies and Sean Baker Use Lighting Crews on Their Early Microbudget Films?

Well i mean if you're going for documentary style you can easily shoot with a 3 person crew, you can even just do it all by yourself if you're technically proficient enough. Daddy Longlegs looks like it's mostly natural and diegetic light with minimal lighting setups. Their very claustrofobic closeu

Thoughts on mixing very different camera systems for multicams

I was using a mix of shit. Had two insta360s (garbage), a Sony NX camcorder, an A7iii and a A7sii. Sold it all. Now have an A7siii and two A7C. Just makes life so much easier and videos more consistent

Buyers remorse Sony A7S II

Sounds like you might be inexperienced at this point which is fine. Unless you can afford to upgrade to a a7siii, I would consider keeping the camera. Shaky footage: use a tripod, get a top handle, or gimbal. That's what everyone does with any camera. You said the screen is tiny, buy an external mon

3 fast moving objects captured with infrared camera - Nov. 24, 2025 around 10pm PST - Los Angeles, CA

Great to hear you are interested in starting! We need more cameras pointed towards the sky, day and night. I'm using a Sony A7SII converted to Full Spectrum IR by the talented people at LifePixel. The A7SII is a great place to start because it is inexpensive and you can adapt many different lenses t

The moon

Yeah, it‘s crazy what huge potential these cameras do have, especially when you have „proper“ lenses on it 🙏 I do work as a professional videographer (and video editor) for over 20 years now, so I‘m used to „proper“ cameras but since i started using the A7SII with Canon lenses, I was blown away when

Beginner Concert Videography Advice

Put simply, depending upon your intentions, but you can’t film a concert on a single camera. Because, you stuck with every shake/slip/miss etc.. You always need at least one angle you can always fall back on. Like this is an example of something I shot… https://youtu.be/FP5m45qNvPo?si=vnPuFVL9d5U7_O

Looking for a recommendation for a high quality and high resolution camera with HDMI output as well

Depends on your budget and how extreme the low light scene is going to be. You could buy a second hand Sony A7S for around 400usd and put on a fast lens like the Laowa 35mm f0.95. It will do 1080p internally, 4k externally through HDMI. The a7sii shoots 4k internally. If you want to go really high en
