Thank you! These were shot on a Sony A7sii! I originally bought this camera during film school for its low-light capabilities (because I worked a couple jobs and could only do my projects at night lol), then I realized “huh, venues are notoriously dark and this can take good photos.”

Budget Lowlight Sensors?
Used A7Sii Can be had cheap, still has low light capabilities that is only really surpassed by the 3, and you can adapt your EF glass EDIT: You can remove the 30 min record limit by installing the playmemories tweak app. I've used it for years and it's never failed

Please explain me: what is the "Sony look"?
DP i AC for still uses his FS7’s! They are work horses. His workflow is dialed in. I have been shooting on Sony for the past 8 years now. Mainly because i was touring with bands and constantly shooting in low light situations. So at the time, the A7sii was the best option. Now i run an a7iv. If anyt

Am I crazy to sell my Sony a7Sii and Canon L series 24-70mm II set up for M43?
Not bad in low light, the drop depends on camera age. I have owned em5, em5iii, g9, S5, g9ii. Sold the s5 and got a g100 while I get another full frame. Still not sure if to stay on L mount or if to shift to nikon. Both of them clip highlights if you are not careful. What you will see is worse shado

FX3 for documentary
Best camera out there for small ob doc IMO. I always liked Sony. First docs were shot with the Z1 which in retrospect was a terrible camera, but at the time it felt magical to go from SD to HD. Sony has a softness to it, that I can’t get with Canon. I like how it renders skin tone better and definit

Is Sony still the low light king?
i shot northern lights with the A7s II and felt the same about that noise reduction. the FX3 and A7s III are better but still have some of that digital feel in shadows. for organic noise the Panasonic GH5S or S5 II actually give you a more filmic grain structure in low light. also look at the Nikon

Is it worth it to learn photography as an LD?
I have a Sony A7s i but a Sony A7s ii is probably pretty reasonable these days bought second hand. This series of camera is notable for low light performance so great for our application. I use Tamron lenses since they’re a bit cheaper. My 28-200 is great for performance. But if you can afford Sony

What is the best all around camera for storm chasing
If you are more trying to get photos than videos. Look into used DSLR’s. Mirrorless cameras are all the hype and deservedly so. However, they are expensive even used. You can get a prosumer or pro level camera in picture quality and features for less than what the entry level mirrorless cameras are.

Buyers remorse Sony A7S II
Sounds like you might be inexperienced at this point which is fine. Unless you can afford to upgrade to a a7siii, I would consider keeping the camera. Shaky footage: use a tripod, get a top handle, or gimbal. That's what everyone does with any camera. You said the screen is tiny, buy an external mon
