How long do you expect a digital Leica to last?

I own only film Leicas, my digital is a Sony A7R2. I bought it new old stock a year or so after the A7R3 camer out, I think I bought it in 2018, making it 8 years now. No problems so far. Digital cameras more or less matured 10 or 12 years ago. Since then they updated only stuff that are of very lit

Nikon user returning to Photography After 7 Years off, Nikon Mirrorless or Time to Switch Brand?

Aha, the beautiful 135DC ❤️ It is really relatively easy for the AF-S lenses to work, with AF, on the Nikon and Sony (I not tried them with Fuji or Canon). The AF-D with a very expensive adaptor will workin in AF, but I just use mine manually focused on a cheaper adaptor. Works lovely for portrait wo

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?

I have the a6300, a7ii and a7r4. On the Olympus side, I have the OM-1.ii and E-P7. I don't use the kit lens on the Olympus cameras - I mostly use the 12-40/2.8 PRO. The Sony kit lens is shit, and the kit lenses I have for my older Olympus cameras are excellent, and so are samples I've seen online fo

Best micro 4/3 camera body?

Most compact cameras are on the slippery side to be honest. I also agree with u/postmodest , my current full frame is A7R III. It just works so plainfully and boringly good. Every time I use my Sony, it just works and gets it right every time..... but I don't know, I just feel detached from the phot

Does this mean my SD card is going out or there is something wrong with the camera?

I'm not sure I understand this comment. I've been shooting with Sony since 2017? maybe 2018? I have the Sony A7III, A7RIII, A7SIII, A7IV, and A7C. I also have the Sony ZV-1. I've had zero issues with my cameras short of the shutter going out on the A7III and A7RIII at 300,000 and 500,000 shutter cli

What’s one thing beginners obsess over that honestly doesn’t matter that much?

Back when I started shooting, I used an old second hand Sony Cybershot P20. But the first, real, brand new, was a Sony DSC H20. A neat camera with a few bells and whistles, I even got an adapter, polarizer, and a ton of extras that went along. Then I had to sell it due to finantial reasons. After so

How many cameras and what brands have you had since you started this #filmmaking thing?

Ok, professional only. Which is a bit difficult as my first couple of gigs, while paid, where very... amateur. My very, very early work was done with either a Sony NEX-5 or a Canon 650D. Everything from that era is just awful, barf-worthy. Then I moved on to a Canon 5D mark II. That served me for ma

How to protect my DSLR and lens in snow climate?

I use a camera on a ski hill for ski/snowboard action shots 30 days in a season, and have for shot stuff like this for 7 ski seasons. While skiing I keep the camera and a 16-35 or 70-200 in a back pack but while shooting I use it in cold, snowing, I instruct skiers to spray me with snow as they pass
