I have the money for a full frame camera for the first time since having kids. I start looking at the Z5ii and R10 and then the lenses and realize I don't want to spend almost $4,000 on a camera and lens. Does anyone also feel fine with M43 but get scared away with prices on FF?
I had a FF Sony kit and an M43 kit for the longest time. A7III for pretty much everything that wasn’t wildlife, EM1 MK3 for wildlife. On a whim, I picked up a cheap used Lumix 14-140mm mkII off of facebook and took just the Olympus with me for a trip. When I came home and went through my pics, I dum

iPhone 15 Pro Max vs Sony A7III
Posted some travel photos recently here from Japan and South Korea and got some comments doubting they were shot on iPhone 😅 So thought it would be interesting to do a quick comparison. Tried to find the most similar shots I had across both my iPhone 15 Pro Max and Sony A7III with matching editing.

New vs old sensor - best colours
Sensors pretty much plateaued around 2012-2015. Sensor technology is constantly improving. It's just that the big sensor used in "real" cameras only have gotten limited benefits from it. Mobile phone sensors are in many ways much more advanced as being smaller finer manufacturing geometries can be u

Photography Tips
The vivo X300pro is practically a fully fledged mirrorless camerera. It's almost impossible to mimic the look of a big sensor with great optics on a tiny phone sensor and with tons of processing on top (S24U). This is why as a S24U owner, I still own dedicated cameras, such as the Sony A7III.

Here it is, your reminder that megapixels on their own mean almost nothing
I actually saw quite a few and I've just now been trying to find some of them. The only one I found so far is this one, and again the test is super flawed, but it comes to the exact opposite conclusion: the high MP images perform way better. The 12 MP images were pretty much garbage (obviously, they

What camera should I get?
Unless you are 100% sure that this is going to be a long-term passion of yours, or you are hoping to make some money on the side at this moment, you might be better off spending less than 2k and getting a more entry level camera to make sure you actually enjoy it. There is a difference between using

Well, for your full frame option there's no reason to choose A7 II if you can afford A7 III. III is such a big jump up in AF performance and generally. Full frame is a good choice if you don't need to skimp on lenses in the future. A6400 has fine AF and delivers excellent quality, and APS-C lenses t

First Digital Camera coming from Analog ( Olympus) ?
Olympus digital cameras don't use the same lens mount that their film cameras used, so you would need to buy an adapter anyway. The sensor on them is also a lot smaller than 35mm film so all your lenses will be cropped in if you use them with an adapter. If using your film lenses is your priority th

Any new camera news?
For years, I think the number one request was for a new BSI and/or stacked sensor, with the assumption that it would be leagues ahead in terms of low light performance / noise. Yeah, the difference is going to be on the limit. Yes, BSI allows for slightly larger photodiodes in photosites which would
